About Play Therapy

Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach to counseling young children.  This approach allows children to engage in therapy using their natural language, the language of play.  Children naturally play to process life situations, learn to cope with difficulties and learn new coping strategies.  Through play therapy, trained play therapist are able to use the therapeutic powers of play to help children move towards meeting their goals and ultimately thriving.
